Many houses in Krusevo today still keep an architecture that’s predominantly blue in color. It is believed that the dominance of blue is due to the town’s heritage of Krusevo's fortune seekers in Greece. Furthermore, there are homes that are predominantly yellow, which is believed to be inherited from the fortune seekers in Romania.
During 1956, when the pro-democratic revolution in Hungary began, approximately 500 Hungarian refugees came to Krusevo and spent about half a year in the town. They were situated in two parts of Krusevo and supplied with food and other necessities from the Ilinden hotel.

"10 Dena Krusevska Repuiblika", or translated to English as "10 Days Krusevo Republic", is a feast organized in Krusevo every August which lasts for 20 days.
The manifestation marks the 10 days in 1903 during which Krusevo freed itself from the Ottoman occupation.

The municipality of Krusevo is the first municipality in Macedonia whose application was accepted by the EU and the World Bank part of the Local and Regional Competitiveness Project. The grant is worth 500 000 euros and the project is part of the IPA2 of the European Union.
