Half a Milion Euros for Tourism Development in Krusevo
The municipality of Krusevo is the first municipality in Macedonia whose application was accepted by the EU and the World Bank part of the Local and Regional Competitiveness Project. The grant is worth 500 000 euros and the project is part of the IPA2 of the European Union.
The project covers reconstruction of the sports hall in Krusevo, setting up signs and informative tables, souvenir shops, marking walking and mountain bikes roads, rescue equipment, four wheel vehicle for transporting injured, 18 seat vehicle for the pilots, capacity building of stakeholders, marketing, organizing events like Krusevo Open 2019 and On a Bike in the Untouched Nature - Krusevo 2018.
The reconstruction of the sports hall and extending its use is perhaps the central focus of the project along with the two vehicles for the need of paragliders and the events taking place on Meckin Kamen. However, setting signs and informative tables that will direct visitors to the historical monuments and touristic attraction are also crucial part of this project. Krusevo lacks these types of public directions for its visitors, and some of the localities are unknown to tourists.
Also, a large part of this project takes the form of promotion, marketing and communication. Krusevo, thanks to this project, will focus more on representing its attractions to the wider public and promote the events taking place in Krusevo, not only in the summer but throughout all year.
The expected results of the Local and Regional Competitiveness Project are more professional presentation of the international paragliding competitions in Krusevo, popularized adventure tourism in Krusevo, and encouraging local economic development that will open jobs and overall develop our town.
